Our story starts back five years ago, when we both just so happen to be at a popular spring near where I lived at the time. He wasn't from around here and I had never been to this park before but a friend dragged me along. Add in a freak thunderstorm which caused us both to seek the same shelter, and you have a just-had-to-happen love connection. He offered me his towel to stay dry and even wrapped his arms around me for added warmth.
This may seem like a strange first encounter to some, but to us it was just meant to be. We love to reflect on how we met and how it was all a matter of chance.
After one year of dating, he popped the question. Then we spent another year planning our cheap-but-awesome wedding. All along I knew the day I wanted to be married was September 14th. I have a thing about numbers and I was really in love with that date. And it just so happen to fall perfectly into our plans, in 2008 it was a Sunday.
Since that special day three years ago, we have seen our fair shares of ups and downs. No marriage is perfect and I'm not going to try and pull mine off as one. We are happy and are grateful for what we have. We have been blessed with a beautiful family, loving friends, and healthy lives. All of which keeps us focused when we feel like we are in a tough spot. And as I mentioned in this post in the beginning, we always talk to each other.
