That's right. I finally found somewhere to take A to have some fun indoors. It's been way too hot lately, so we haven't been doing much outside of the house, until today. We went to a local indoor sports complex to try out their "stay and play" program. Since A is under two, and a non-walker, she got in for free!
Our time there wasn't what I was expecting. There wasn't much for the little ones to do, so A just crawled around most of the time. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time and enjoyed our time out of the house. Anything beats sitting inside all day.
Upon our arrival, A met up with her friend C and didn't leave her side for the first 15 minutes. It was so cute. When C would crawl around, A was right behind her every step of the way. We joked and said it was follow-the-leader. Once C went somewhere A didn't want to go, meltdown #1 started. I was able to distract her with some of the ball pit balls, so she soon perked up. Then, of course, she lost those and meltdown #2 took place. Then we found her friend, J. He was playing with a huge exercise ball so he and A both tried to stand up with it together. This went on for about 10 minutes before they both decided to crawl around. That's when A found the large foam mat. This was fun for about 20 minutes as she crawled back and forth, on and off of it. Well, that was until she fell off face first and got some rug burn on her nose, which then started meltdown #3. At this point, we decided to go home.
Despite the multiple meltdowns (due to no sleep last night/ waking up 2 hours early today) we had a great time together. We are looking forward to doing it again next week.
