So this week was a little crazy in the couponing and shopping department. I finally made the move over to the CVS "game." If you aren't familiar with what the game is, check this out to learn more. I also took advantage of a 50% off home goods coupon at Dollar General and picked up some much needed blackout curtains for A's room. And of course I still made my weekly shopping trip for groceries. So are you interested to see how I did this week? Well then, lets get started.
First I'll start off with my very exciting CVS trip. This is very different from regular grocery shopping, meaning you don't just buy everything at once. Shopping at CVS takes time and preparation. Check out the link above to learn more in depth about how to shop at CVS.
I decided to make my trip to CVS Sunday night after realizing that some of my high value coupons were going to expire that day. I knew that if I let this deal get away I wouldn't be happy. I also had rain checks for the items from when they were on sale a few weeks ago (CVS rain checks never expire, only your coupons). There were also a few other great deals in the current ad so I made sure to use my time and money wisely.
So here's what I got...
Transaction #1
(1) Tylenol Precise Pain Relief Cream- $2.49 ea (saved $6.00 ea)
(3) Glade Sense and Spray- $1.50 ea (saved $9.79 ea)
I also used a $3.00 off $15.00 CVS coupon I was able to print just before I left the house
By purchasing these items I received $6.00 in Extra Care Bucks (ECBs)
Total Paid: $3.99 Total Saved $38.37
91% Savings
Transaction #2
(1) Boiron Cold Calm- $6.99 ea (saved $4.00 ea)
For this transaction, I used the $6.00 ECB that I just earned to pay for the item
Also, by purchasing this item I received $6.99 in EBCs
Total Paid: $.99 Total Saved: $10.00
91% Savings
Overall Total Paid: $4.98 Total Saved: $48.37
91% Savings
And I still have $6.99 in ECB to use on my next transaction
From there I went over to Dollar General so I could use my 50% off home goods coupon before they closed. I knew exactly what I wanted to get and was so happy to get a good deal on them.
